More sites, a play, and a Papal Audience

Just a quick update before I head off to Munich! I spent the past weekend in Rome and got to do some pretty amazing things. I did some more exploring, went to see A Mid Summer Night's Dream at the Borghese Garden's Globe Theatre, ate incredible food, bought an AS Roma jersey (so thus I've chosen Roma over Lazio), and attended a Papal Audience later in the the week! Here are some pictures from the past week! Enjoy!

The play was all in Italian but we were able to understand a fair amount of it! The acting was so superb that we usually could understand what was going on simply by gestures. Wonderful costumes! We saw it on their last night so it was a very fun atmosphere.

We were pretty close I'd say (but not quite as good as Nanny and Papa's Pope photo, haha)

I got the chills!

What an incredible experience that was! I still can't believe it - I feel so special. Pope Benedict even gave specific recognition to Loyola so all of us got up and clapped.

Heading to Testaccio Thursday night

From the Vittoriano ("wedding cake")
Got my AS Roma bag!

All the state museums were free-entry for the weekend (Augustus)

Another stop at the Vittoriano before the best pizza and gelato in town!
Line for Pizzeria Baffetto...across the ally is our favorite gelato place too - GREAT LOCATION
